디램익스체인지, "D램 가격 19년 1분기 하락폭 생각보다 커..."

 

D램익스체인지에 따르면 기존의 15% 가격 하락이 예상됐던 D램 계약가격은 2019년 1분기에는 20% 가까이 순차적으로 떨어질 것으로 보인다.

 

D램 공급업체들은 작년 12월부터 1분기부터 OEM과 계약가격을 협상하기 시작했다고 D램익스체인지사는 말했다. D램익스체인지에 따르면 양측은 일반적으로 8GB 모듈의 평균 계약가격이 US$55 이상 낮아져 1월 연속 10% 이상 하락하고 2월과 3월에는 또 다시 순차적으로 하락할 것이라는 데 의견을 같이 하고 있다.

 

D램익스체인지에 따르면 8GB 모듈과 4GB 모듈 평균 계약가격은 각각 60달러와 30달러 이하로 떨어졌다.

 

D램 반도체 제조업체들은 비트 공급 증가율이 2019년 1분기 비트 출하량 증가율을 계속 넘어설 것으로 전망하고 있어 재고량 증가와 반도체 가격 하락을 가져올 것이라고 D램익스체인지사는 말했다. D램익스체인지에 따르면 D램 가격은 3분기 이상 하락세를 보일 수 있다고 한다.

 

주요 D램 업체들이 공급과잉을 완화하고 메모리 가격을 안정시키기 위해 2019년 설비투자를 낮추기로 했다고 D램익스체인지사는 말했다.

 

"올해는 반도체 가격이 하락하기 시작한 2018년 4분기 이전의 분기에 제한적인 번영을 거둔 D램 모듈 제조업체들에게 도전과제가 될 것"이라고 D램익스체인지도 말했다.

 

 

 

Fall in 1Q19 DRAM prices larger-than-expected, says DRAMeXchange

 

DRAM contract prices are set to fall nearly 20% sequentially in the first quarter of 2019, according to DRAMeXchange, which estimated previously a smaller 15% price decrease.

 

DRAM suppliers have started negotiating their contract quotes for the first quarter with OEMs since last December, said DRAMeXchange. Both sides generally agree that the average contract price of 8GB modules will come to around US$55 or even lower, indicating a price drop of at least 10% sequentially in January and another sequential decrease in February and March, DRAMeXchange noted.

 

The average contract prices for 8GB modules and 4GB ones have both fallen below US$60 and US$30, respectively, DRAMeXchange indicated.

 

DRAM chipmakers will continue to see their bit supply growth remain above their bit shipment increases in the first quarter of 2019, resulting in rising inventory levels and falling chip prices, DRAMeXchange said. DRAM prices may be under their downward trend for another three quarters or more, according to DRAMeXchange.

 

Major DRAM firms have moved to lower their capex for 2019 aiming to moderate the market oversupply and stabilize the memory prices, DRAMeXchange noted.

 

This year will be a challenging one for DRAM module makers, which gained limited prosperity during the quarters prior to the fourth quarter of 2018 when chip prices started falling, DRAMeXchange also said.
