샤오미, 비전옥스 OLED 패널로 폴더블 스마트폰 개발

 

샤오미는 중국 평면 패널 제조사인 비전옥스의 플렉시블 AMOLED 패널을 사용해 폴더블 스마트폰을 개발하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.

 

샤오미는 최근 중국 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS) 웨이보에 더블 폴딩 디스플레이를 탑재한 스마트폰 시제품을 선보이면서 스마트폰을 놀리는 최신 스마트폰 제조사가 됐다.

 

린은 시제품이 플렉시블 폴딩 스크린, 4축 폴딩, 플렉시블 커버 기술 등 일련의 기술적 문제를 극복했다고 주장했다.

 

린 부사장은 시제품을 아직 시험 생산 중이며, 앞으로 상용화하는 방안을 검토할 것이라고 말했다.

 

한편, All View Consulting (AVC)이 집계한 자료에 따르면, Visionox는 2018년 세계 3위의 AMOLED 패널 제조사로 중국 1위에 올랐다.

 

Visionox는 조만간 Hebei에서 첫 6G 플렉시블 AMOLED 라인 양산과 더불어 2018년 말 Hefei에 두 번째 6G 플렉시블 OLED 라인 착공식을 가졌다.

 

 

 

Xiaomi using Visionox OLED panels to develop foldable smartphones, say sources

 

Xiaomi reportedly has been using flexible AMOLED panels from China's flat panel maker Visionox to develop its foldable smartphones, according to industry sources.

 

Xiaomi has become the latest smartphone maker to tease a folding smartphone as its president and co-founder Bin Lin showcased recently a new smartphone prototype that features a double folding display on China's social media Weibo.

 

Lin claimed that the prototype conquered a series of technical issues such as flexible folding screen, four-axis folding and flexible cover technologies.

 

Lin said that the prototype is still under trial production, and the company will consider commercializing the model in the future.

 

Meanwhile, Visionox ranked as China's top as well as the world's third largest AMOLED panel maker in 2018, according to data compiled by All View Consulting (AVC).

 

In addition to planning to kick off volume production of its first 6G flexible AMOLED line in Hebei soon, Visionox held a groundbreaking ceremony for its second 6G flexible OLED line to be built in Hefei at the end of 2018.
